Heritage, Trust & Leadership
Deepening our community bonds, supporting youth education, and preserving the rich Ghedia ancestral roots within Surat.
The Journey of Saurashtra Ghedia Koli Samaj
Our Ghedia Koli ancestors originally migrated from the fertile coastal and agricultural belts of the Saurashtra region in Gujarat. Seeking new opportunities and trade avenues, many families relocated to the rising industrial city of Surat.
Resilient, hardworking, and deeply grounded in our mutual values, the Ghedia community steadily built strong networks across Surat’s diamond cutting, textiles, manufacturing, and trading sectors.
To secure this growth and support incoming resident families, the **Shree Saurashtra Ghedia Koli Samaj, Surat** was formally organized. Today, our Samaj Bhavan stands as a beacon of social security, offering a common sanctuary for cultural assemblies, education scholarships, and mutual aid.
Our Core Principles
Mutual Brotherhood & Aid
Providing direct financial, social, and logistical aid to families facing medical or economic distress.
Educational Elevation
Eliminating educational dropouts by sponsoring textbook banks, school fees, and rewarding academic merit.
Financial Independence
Supporting Ghedia women led self-help groups (“Sakhi Mandal”) to learn commercial skills and run businesses.
Executive Committee Board
Our active trustees and committee leaders steering the social, academic, and economic initiatives across the five Surat zones.
